Cases where more permits are issued than it is supposed exist in some governments. This has caused the extinction of some species of animals.
Even though trophy hunting is a controversial issue, it continues to generate a lot of revenue for countries that allow it. Several millions of trophies are imported into the United States every year. These trophies cost a lot of money to obtain and ship into the country.
