The fists should be loose and relax when not punching and the shoulder must be as relaxed as well. When making an attack, the fists must be tightened up. The thumb should never get wrapped up with the other fingers because it will not be as effective. To be precise, exhale deeply when initiating the punches and the torso should be rotated so the weight of the body is transferred to the attack.
The dominant hand should be guarding the face but still ready to attack. The other hand must be clenched ahead of you at level with the nose and to throw a job. The chin is an easy target and considered a weakness. Make sure to tuck it in near the collarbone.
