Early man either lived in caves or was nomadic. Eventually, man discovered that the world around it could be shaped into sufficient shelter. But with that shelter came a loss of connection to the natural world. But man can reconnect with the natural, can reconnect with is primal instinct, but to do so with a modern twist. Ancient civilizations were built on the banks of rivers. When humans first settled into agricultural societies, rivers provided a source of drinking water, and also water for the crops that needed to be grown. Rivers continue to be a source of many recreational activities even in the modern era.
